Why a native Portuguese voice matters
Portuguese hides two sounds that break foreign TTS reliably: the nasal diphthong ão (não, coração) and the soft-palate lh and nh. Brazilian Portuguese adds its own music - open vowels and the sung, wave-like sentence rhythm Brazilians recognise immediately. A native voice produces these by default; an English-accented one approximates them, and the approximation is what makes generic TTS sound like a tourist.
All seven native voices are Brazilian - by far the largest Portuguese-speaking audience online. Keren and Ana are clear narrative female voices, Roberta smooth and conversational, Amandoca fast and vibrant for social clips. Matheus and Will are male narrators, one younger, one with more weight, and Diego is the confident announcer voice for ads and trailers. European Portuguese has no native voice in the roster yet: the universal voices will read it, and Brazilian voices remain fully intelligible to Portuguese listeners, the way the accents are mutually understood in real life.

Is it Brazilian or European Portuguese?
All seven native voices are Brazilian (pt-BR). European Portuguese text is read correctly word-wise, but the accent will be Brazilian. A native European Portuguese voice is not in the roster yet.
Does it pronounce ão, lh and nh correctly?
Yes - nasal diphthongs and the palatal lh/nh are native sounds for these voices, along with Brazilian open vowels and sentence rhythm.
Can it read mixed Portuguese and English text?
Yes - English product names and phrases inside Portuguese text come out as English, not letter-by-letter Portuguese.
