Turn your ebook into an audiobook, one MP3 per chapter.
Open your EPUB, Word or PDF book on Speecho's Voice tab, pick a natural voice, and every chapter comes out as its own MP3, named after the chapter. The chapters are found from the book's contents or headings, the file is read in your browser, and you hear part 1 before paying for the rest.

From an ebook to chapter MP3s in three steps
No pasting chapter by chapter, no renaming files, no guessing what it will cost.
Where the chapters come from
The book already says where each chapter starts. Speecho reads it from there, and you check the list before anything is voiced.
Why an audiobook needs one file per chapter
A book is listened to over days. The files should work like one.
One long file is hard to listen to
A single five-hour MP3 has no chapters. Finding where you stopped means scrubbing through it, and a course module cannot be shared on its own.
Now: one MP3 per chapter, numbered and named after it ("03 The Storm.mp3"), so any player lists them in order.
Splitting a book by hand
Pasting chapter after chapter into a text box, voicing each one and renaming the files takes an evening per book.
Now: chapters found from the contents, headings or bookmarks, with a tick on each to leave out what you do not want voiced.
Paying before you have heard it
Converting a whole book in one go means finding out at the end that the voice is wrong for it.
Now: a sample first, then part 1, then the rest. Each part is charged only when it starts, and you can stop after any of them.

What a book costs
You pay for the characters that are voiced, the same as for any text. Chapters cost nothing extra.
Per-character pricing, three tiers
Pick the tier for the whole book, or try a part on each.
Clear and natural. Good for drafts, study material and long nonfiction.
More expressive and lifelike. Good for hours of listening.
The most natural. For an audiobook you publish.
≈ 1,000 characters make about one minute of speech. A printed book page is about 1,500 to 2,000 characters.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn my ebook into an audiobook?
Open the EPUB, Word or PDF file on the Voice tab of Speecho, pick a voice and press "Voice part 1". The chapters are found from the book itself, and each one becomes its own MP3 named after the chapter. You hear part 1 before paying for the rest.
Which files can I open?
EPUB, Word (DOCX), PDF with a text layer, TXT and Markdown. Kindle files (AZW, MOBI) are not supported, and an ebook with DRM cannot be opened: export your manuscript as EPUB or DOCX instead. A scanned PDF has no text inside; turn it into text on the Scan text tab first.
What if no chapters are found?
Then the book is voiced as one text into one MP3, the same as PDF to audio. You can still split it yourself: open each chapter as its own file, or add "Chapter 1"-style lines to a plain text file.
Can I leave chapters out?
Yes. "Choose chapters" has a tick next to each one, with its length in characters and credits. Contents and copyright pages start unticked, and an unticked chapter is neither voiced nor charged. You can also fix typos or names in the text box first; the chapters stay where they are.
Is the chapter title read aloud?
Yes, when it is part of the text: the heading opens the chapter, the way audiobooks announce chapters. You can edit or delete it in the text box before voicing. The title also names the file.
How long can a book be?
Up to 200,000 characters per document, a little over three hours of speech, in up to 40 chapter files. A full-length novel of about 90,000 words is roughly 500,000 characters, so it goes in as two or three files, for example one per part of the book.
What do I download?
The chapters as a ZIP (every chapter voiced in full), any single chapter as its own MP3, or the whole book joined into one MP3. Each chapter file is numbered and named after the chapter, like "03 The Storm.mp3".
Do chapters cost extra?
No. You pay for the characters voiced, at the same price as any text. Chapters only change where the parts are cut (a part never runs across two chapters) and how the files are named.
Can I publish the audiobook?
The audio is yours to use, including commercially: on your own site, a course platform or a podcast feed. Each audiobook store has its own rules on AI narration, so check them before publishing there. You need the rights to the text itself: your own book, or one you have permission to record.
Is my book uploaded?
The file itself is not: the text is read out of it in your browser. The text you choose to voice is sent to the voice service to be spoken, and the audio is kept in your account so you can download it.
Can I make an audiobook for free?
Not a whole one. A new account comes with 150 credits, about 3,000 characters on Standard voices, which is enough to hear the first pages of your book. On Enhanced and Premium, free credits voice samples of up to 300 characters until your first purchase.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Voice generation is account-only so your audio and credits are saved to you. Signup is free and comes with 150 credits.
Open your book and hear the first chapter begin.
A 60,000-character novella is 3,000 credits on Standard, half of the $10 pack. Top up once, use it anytime, credits never expire.
