How do visitors read the subtitles?
They open a link - usually by scanning a QR code you show on the screen or print in the bulletin. It opens a page in their phone browser with the subtitles as they are spoken. No account, no app, nothing to install. Up to 20 people can follow one session; if you need a bigger room, contact us.
Can we show two languages at the same time?
One session translates into one language, and you can switch that language mid-service without stopping. If you need two languages at once, run a second session on another laptop or phone: each has its own link and QR code, and each is billed separately.
Can we put the subtitles on the screen behind the speaker?
Yes. Use the fullscreen mode with adjustable text size on the machine driving the projector. If the service already goes out through OBS or vMix, the transparent overlay link puts the same captions over your stream.
Which languages does it handle?
Speech is recognized in 56 languages with automatic detection, and can be translated live into the language your visitors need. If the service is always in one language, name it and accuracy improves.
Do we need special equipment?
No. A laptop or tablet with a browser and the microphone you already use in the room. No transmitters, no receivers, no headsets to hand out and collect afterwards.
What happens if the internet drops?
Short outages are survivable. Speecho keeps listening, holds on to what is said while the connection is down and reconnects on its own, so the words spoken during the gap still reach the screen. The offline time is not billed.
Is the service stored anywhere?
The session is saved to your history as a transcript when it ends, so you can export or share it. Audio is not kept unless you turn on "Keep audio" before the service; then the recording sits privately next to the transcript for 90 days and can be deleted at any time. The live link is off by default and only works while you have it on; if you leave it on, the same link shows the finished transcript afterwards - and you can revoke it at any time. For the parts you do not want subtitled - worship songs, a private word - pause the session; the link and the transcript stay in place, and paused time is not billed.
How much does it cost?
Billed by the second from a pay-as-you-go balance, from $0.83 per hour - the same credits as file transcription. A one-hour service every Sunday comes to roughly $3-4 a month, and nothing is charged in between.
