Live German → Ukrainian

Speak German. They read Ukrainian.

Speecho listens to the room and streams Ukrainian subtitles while the sentence is still being spoken. The appointment, the Elternabend or the information evening runs at its normal pace, and nobody waits three weeks for an interpreter slot.

For German rooms where part of the audience arrived recently

Where the information is free, the language is the barrier, and the interpreter is booked out.

Elternabend and school information evenings

Dates, Ausflüge, Materiallisten and the rules about absences, delivered in German at speaking pace. The Ukrainian parents leave with the dates and none of the conditions.

Now: The evening reads in Ukrainian on their phones as it happens, and the saved transcript can go to every family in the class afterwards.

Information events at the Jobcenter, the Ausländerbehörde or a Beratungsstelle

A group briefing about deadlines, documents and what happens if a form is late. A professional interpreter is booked for another case, and a relative with school German fills in.

Now: Ukrainian subtitles on the screen in the room, or on each phone through a link - the same briefing, understood the first time.

Parishes and Integrationskurse

A congregation or a course group that has taken in Ukrainian families. The social part works; the announcements and the practical instructions do not.

Now: Live Ukrainian subtitles for the parts where the words carry the information, with nothing for the audience to install.

Subtitles appear while the sentence is still being spoken

Interim words show up instantly and settle as the phrase completes - the German above, the Ukrainian below.

Guten Abend, schön, dass Sie da sind.

Доброго вечора, добре, що ви прийшли.

Wir beginnen mit den Terminen für dieses Schuljahr.

Почнемо з дат на цей навчальний рік.

Ihre Fragen können Sie am Ende stellen.

Свої запитання ви зможете поставити в кінці.

Three steps, and the room is reading

Set up once; after that it is one button before you start.

1. Pick where the sound comes from

The microphone in the room, or the audio of a browser tab if the meeting is online. Taking audio from the sound desk beats a laptop microphone in a large room.

Note: tab audio needs Chrome or Edge. In Safari and Firefox the microphone is the way in.

2. Share the reading link

One link, shown as a QR code on the screen or printed in the programme. It opens in a browser - no install, no account, and each reader sets their own text size.

put the subtitles on the projector in fullscreen instead, and nobody needs a phone at all.

3. Start, and stop when you are done

Billed by the second while the session runs, from a pay-as-you-go balance. Pause it over a break and nothing is charged.

the session is saved as a transcript in both languages, exportable as text or subtitles.

Hear Ukrainian instead of reading it

The live interpreter speaks the translation aloud in a natural voice, a few seconds behind the speaker. Listeners scan a QR code and hear it in their headphones, up to 20 per session.

Pay only for what you use

Top up once. Credits never expire. No subscription. One wallet for transcription, scans and captions.

New accounts get 15 free minutes to try - credits work for scans and captions too.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to long German compound nouns?

They are translated as concepts, not word by word, so Aufenthaltserlaubnis or Leistungsbescheid arrive as the Ukrainian phrase that means the same thing. That is right for understanding the sentence and wrong for finding the word on a form later, which is why the original German is kept in the transcript next to the translation.

Is this a substitute for a sworn interpreter?

No, and it should not be used as one. Anything with legal consequence - a hearing, a signed declaration, a medical consent - needs a qualified interpreter. This is for the information events, briefings and meetings that today happen in German only because no interpreter was available.

Do attendees need an app or an account?

No. They open a link, usually shown as a QR code on the screen or printed on the handout. It runs in a browser, works on any phone, and each reader sets their own text size.

Can we hand out what was said afterwards?

Yes. Stopping the session saves a transcript in both languages, exportable as text or subtitles - so the people who could not attend get the same information as the room.

What does an hour cost?

Billed by the second from a pay-as-you-go balance, from $0.83 per hour - well under a euro. An evening event is about a dollar, and pausing over a break costs nothing.

Can the subtitles spell names right and translate terms my way?

Yes. Open Glossary before you start and add names and terms, plus translations into Ukrainian written as term = translation, such as a job title or a product name the way your audience says it. The subtitles use them from the first sentence, and you can edit the list during the session.
