Speak Portuguese. They read English.
A service, a talk or a meeting in Portuguese, read in English by whoever needs it. Speecho streams the subtitles to the screen or to phones in the room, about a second behind the speaker.

Brazil and Portugal both export their meetings; the audience is rarely all one language.
A Portuguese-language church with visitors
The service is in Portuguese and English-speaking guests, spouses and neighbours follow the music and nothing else.
Now: They read the sermon in English on their phones without the service changing at all.
A Brazilian team reporting to an English-speaking one
The weekly meeting is held in English so nobody is excluded, which means the people who do the work explain it in their second language.
Now: The meeting runs in Portuguese at full speed and the English speakers read along, with a transcript for everyone afterwards.
A conference talk with an international audience
You either present in English or accept that half the room will not follow you.
Now: You present in Portuguese and the English subtitles run beside you on the second screen.
Subtitles appear while the sentence is still being spoken
Interim words show up instantly and settle as the phrase completes - the Portuguese above, the English below.
Bom dia a todos, obrigado por estarem aqui hoje.
Good morning everyone, thank you for being here today.
Vamos começar com os resultados do último trimestre.
Let us start with the results from the last quarter.
Se tiverem perguntas, há tempo no final.
If you have questions, there is time at the end.
Three steps, and the room is reading
Set up once; after that it is one button before you start.
1. Pick where the sound comes from
The microphone in the room, or the audio of a browser tab if the meeting is online. Taking audio from the sound desk beats a laptop microphone across the hall.
Note: tab audio needs Chrome or Edge. In Safari and Firefox the microphone is the way in.
2. Share the reading link
One link, shown as a QR code on the screen or printed in the programme. It opens in a browser - no install, no account, and each reader sets their own text size.
Or: put the subtitles on the projector in fullscreen instead, and nobody needs a phone at all.
3. Start, and stop when you are done
Billed by the second while the session runs, from a pay-as-you-go balance. Pause it over a break and nothing is charged.
Afterwards: the session is saved as a transcript in both languages, exportable as text or subtitles.
Pay only for what you use
Top up once. Credits never expire. No subscription. One wallet for transcription, scans and captions.
New accounts get 15 free minutes to try - credits work for scans and captions too.
Frequently asked questions
Brazilian or European Portuguese?
Both are recognised, and you do not have to say which. They differ enough in rhythm and vocabulary to matter for recognition, and both are covered - as are Angolan and Mozambican Portuguese.
Does it keep up with fast speech?
Yes, with about a second between the sentence and its subtitle. Brazilian Portuguese spoken quickly is well within range; what actually degrades accuracy is two people speaking at once, or a microphone at the back of the room.
Can visitors read it on their own phones?
Yes, through a link you share - normally as a QR code on the screen or in the programme. It opens in a browser, needs no install and no account, and each reader sets their own text size.
Does the transcript keep the Portuguese as well?
Yes. The original and the translation are both saved, so the session ends with a Portuguese transcript and its English counterpart - exportable as text or as subtitle files.
What does an hour cost?
Billed by the second from a pay-as-you-go balance, from $0.83 per hour - the same credits as file transcription. An hour-long service or meeting is roughly a dollar.
