Any video or webinar, translated as you watch.
Play it in a browser tab and pick that tab as the source. A few seconds later you hear it in your language in a natural voice, with the original playing quietly underneath like a voice-over and the text on screen. Nothing to upload, nothing to wait for.

For the videos that were never made for you
Good content in a language you do not speak.
A course or lecture without your language
The course you need exists only in English, or only in Japanese, and the automatic captions are in the same language as the audio.
Now: You hear it in your language as it plays, and keep the text of both.
A webinar or stream happening right now
A dub or translated subtitles come days later, if at all, and the live event is over by then.
Now: It is translated while it happens, a few seconds behind the speaker.
Two voices at once
Playing a translation next to the original means both at full volume and neither understandable.
Now: The original drops to a quiet level under the translation, like a voice-over. You choose how quiet.
Three steps before you press play
The video stays where it is. Nothing is downloaded or uploaded.
Open the video in a tab
Any site that plays in Chrome or Edge: a course platform, a webinar, a conference recording.
Pick that tab as the source
Choose Browser tab, press Start and select the video's tab with its audio shared.
Set the original's volume
Start at 20% for a voice-over feel, go down to zero to hear only the translation, or up when the music matters.
A voice-over, as it plays
The original line appears first. The spoken translation follows a few seconds later.
What it is good for
Anything with clear speech that plays in a browser tab.
Webinars and live streams
Translated while they happen, not days later.
Online courses and lectures
Follow a course in a language you do not speak, and keep the text for your notes.
Conference talks
Recorded or live, as long as they play in a browser tab.
Interviews and documentaries
Works best with clear speech. Loud music or crosstalk makes it harder.
Good to know
- The translation runs a few seconds behind the picture, so lips and words do not line up.
- Tab audio works in Chrome and Edge on a computer.
- Speech over loud music, or several people talking at once, is harder to translate.
- A session lasts up to two hours. Start a new one for a longer video.
- It translates what is said, not text shown on screen.
How you pay
The same pay-as-you-go balance as transcription and text to speech. No subscription.
See pricing →- Billed by the second, only while a session is running
- Listeners waiting on the link cost nothing
- The app shows how long your balance lasts before you start
- Credits never expire
Live video translation: questions
Does it work with YouTube?
Yes, like any video that plays in a Chrome or Edge tab: pick the tab as the source and play the video. The same goes for course platforms and webinar tools that run in the browser.
Can I hear only the translation?
Yes. Drag the original sound slider down to zero and only the translated voice plays.
Can I keep the text?
Yes. When you stop, the original and the translated text are saved to your history, ready to read back, summarise or export.
Will a feature-length film fit?
A session lasts up to two hours, so most films fit in one. It is billed by the second from your balance, and the app shows before you start how long your balance lasts.
Does it translate text on screen or slides?
No, only speech. Text shown in the video is not read out.
Does it work on a phone?
Translating a tab needs Chrome or Edge on a computer. On a phone the microphone mode works for speech in the room, not for a video playing on the same phone.
Press play. Hear it in your language.
