Handwritten pages to editable text, from a photo.
Snap a photo of a handwritten page — notes, old letters, a journal, a whiteboard — and get clean, editable text back in seconds. Cursive included. Words the AI can't read are marked, never invented.
Scan a page →For every page that only exists on paper
Retyping by hand takes 15 minutes per page. A scan takes seconds.
Family letters & archives
Grandma's letters, war-time postcards, old diaries — cursive nobody has time to decipher and retype.
Now: Photograph each page and get searchable text you can save, share and translate — before the paper fades further.
Lecture & meeting notebooks
A semester of handwritten notes you can't search, back up, or paste into your study docs.
Now: Scan the pages that matter, get text with your line breaks preserved, export to Word or PDF.
Journals & manuscripts
Years of morning pages or a notebook draft of your book — locked on paper.
Now: Digitize a chapter over coffee. Review side by side, fix the marked [?] spots, done.
Honest OCR: unclear words are marked, not guessed
The AI transcribes exactly what's on the page and flags anything illegible with [?] so you can review it yourself.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert handwriting to text?
Open Speecho, switch to the Scan tab, and upload photos of your pages (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 at once). The AI reads each page and returns editable text with the original line breaks preserved. You can then copy it, or export to Word, PDF or plain text.
Does it read cursive?
Yes. The AI handles cursive, print and mixed writing. Very messy or damaged passages are marked with [?] instead of being guessed — you review and fill those in yourself.
What languages are supported?
Most languages with Latin and Cyrillic scripts work well — English, Spanish, German, French, Ukrainian, and more. You can set a language hint before scanning to improve accuracy.
How much does it cost?
A page costs 40 credits — about $0.08 with the $5 pack. No subscription; the same credits also pay for audio transcription. Compare: dedicated handwriting OCR services charge $0.12–0.15 per page on top of monthly plans.
Are my photos stored?
No. Photos are processed in memory and never written to disk. Only the recognized text is saved to your history, and history auto-deletes after 30 days.
Can I translate the recognized text?
Yes — every scan lands in your history like a transcript, so one click translates it to 18 languages, summarizes it, or exports it as a formatted document.
That notebook won't type itself.
