SRT vs VTT — which do you need?
SRT is the most widely supported subtitle format — video editors like Premiere, Final Cut and DaVinci Resolve, plus most players, read it. VTT (WebVTT) is what HTML5 <video> and YouTube prefer, and it supports styling. If a player rejects your file, converting between the two usually fixes it. Plain text strips every timestamp and number, leaving just the words — handy for turning captions into a readable transcript.

What is the difference between SRT and VTT?
They are both subtitle formats. SRT (SubRip) numbers each caption and uses a comma in timestamps (00:00:01,000). VTT (WebVTT) starts with a “WEBVTT” header, uses a period in timestamps (00:00:01.000), and is the format HTML5 video and YouTube prefer. The text is the same — only the wrapping differs.
Is my subtitle file uploaded anywhere?

How do I convert SRT to VTT?
