From Drive to transcript in three steps

No Workspace admin, no edition upgrade, no add-ons.

1. Download the recording

Meet saves recordings to the organizer's Google Drive ("Meet Recordings" folder) as MP4. Download it — or use any screen recording of the call.

2. Transcribe with speakers

The audio track is extracted in your browser — the video itself never uploads. Speaker diarization labels each voice; rename labels to real names after.

3. Summarize & share

An AI summary pulls out decisions and action items. Share the transcript by link or export TXT, SRT or VTT.

When Meet's own tools fall short

Frequently asked questions

How do I transcribe a Google Meet recording?

Download the recording from Google Drive (Meet saves it to the organizer's "Meet Recordings" folder as MP4), upload it to Speecho, and you get a transcript with speaker labels, timestamps and an optional AI summary in minutes.

My Google Meet plan can't record. What can I do?

Record your screen during the call with any screen recorder (QuickTime, Xbox Game Bar, OBS) and upload that file instead — Speecho extracts the audio in your browser and transcribes it the same way.

Do I need a Google Workspace subscription?

No. Speecho transcribes the recording file itself, so it works regardless of your Google plan or admin settings — including files shared with you by someone else.

Will the transcript show who said what?

Yes — enable speaker diarization and each line is labeled by speaker. You can rename "Speaker 1" to real names afterwards.

Does the whole video get uploaded?

No. The audio track is extracted locally in your browser before upload, so even a long 1080p recording transfers as a small audio file. The video never leaves your computer.
