Terms of Service

By using Speecho ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Speecho provides AI-powered speech-to-text transcription on a pay-as-you-go basis. You purchase credits in advance and spend them by transcribing audio or video files. All prices are in US Dollars (USD).

2. Accounts and Guest Mode

You may use the Service without an account ("Guest mode"). Guest credits are linked to a token stored in your browser. Clearing browser data may result in permanent loss of guest credits.
Registered accounts allow you to access your credits and transcription history from any device.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3. Credits and Payments

Credits are purchased in advance and deducted per second of audio transcribed.
Credits do not expire.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all transactions, applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax), and invoicing.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to transcribe content that is illegal, infringes third-party intellectual property rights, contains hate speech, or violates the privacy of others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

5. Accuracy and Disclaimer

Transcription is performed by OpenAI Whisper. While accuracy is typically high (90%+ on clean audio), we do not guarantee 100% accuracy and are not liable for errors, omissions, or misinterpretations in transcription results. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

6. Data and Privacy

Audio files are streamed to OpenAI for processing and are not retained on our servers after transcription completes. Resulting transcript text is stored for up to 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (OpenAI, hosting providers), or unforeseen events may cause downtime. We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Speecho's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email (for registered users) or a banner on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, unused credits may be refunded subject to our Refund Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ukraine, except where local consumer protection laws of your country of residence grant you stronger rights.
