The same Ukrainian sentence, twice. Vira is a Ukrainian speaker; Zoe reads Ukrainian with an English accent - the г, the і/и contrast and the unreduced vowels are the tell.

All 5 run on the ElevenLabs tiers: Enhanced at 110 credits / 1,000 characters (≈ $0.23 per minute of speech) and Premium at 160 (≈ $0.33) for the most natural result. The Standard tier reads Ukrainian too at 50 credits, and for most languages it has native voices of its own. Every clip downloads as MP3. ## Why a native Ukrainian voice matters

The most common failure in Ukrainian TTS is not an English accent but a Russian one, because so many multilingual models learned Cyrillic mostly from Russian. Ukrainian г is a voiced h, not a hard g; о stays a full o in unstressed positions instead of reducing to an a; and и and і are separate vowels that Russian-trained voices merge. Get those wrong and the result reads as Russian pronunciation applied to Ukrainian text - which is exactly what Ukrainian listeners notice first.

All five voices are Ukrainian speakers. Vira is a natural, young-sounding storyteller and Yaroslava a brisk, energetic voice for news-style and informational content. Evgeniy is a vibrant, rich male narrator - the most-used Ukrainian voice in the library - and Leonid a calm, teacherly one with a Kyiv colour, suited to explainers and long-form narration. Alex is a confident, clear male voice that paces itself with deliberate pauses, made for informational content. The apostrophe (об’єкт) and the softening ь are read as the separate phonetic events they are, not skipped.

## Frequently asked questions

**Does it sound Ukrainian or Russian?**

Ukrainian. These are native Ukrainian voices, so г is the voiced h, unstressed о is not reduced to a, and и and і stay distinct - the three things that make Russian-trained TTS sound wrong on Ukrainian text.

**Does it read ї, є, ґ and the apostrophe correctly?**

Yes - all four Ukrainian-specific letters are native to these voices, and the apostrophe is read as the hard separation it marks rather than being ignored.

**Can it read mixed Ukrainian and English text?**

Yes. English brand names and technical terms inside Ukrainian text are pronounced as English rather than transliterated through Cyrillic reading rules.

**How much does Ukrainian text to speech cost?**

Native Ukrainian voices exist on every tier: two on Standard at 50 credits per 1,000 characters, and the five on this page on Enhanced at 110 or Premium at 160. A 1,000-character paragraph is roughly one minute of speech - about $0.10 on Standard or $0.23 on Enhanced at the $5 pack rate. No subscription.
