# Speecho pricing

Pay-as-you-go. You buy credit top-ups, not a subscription. Credits never expire. 15 free minutes of transcription on email confirmation. Prices in USD; VAT may be added at checkout (Paddle is the merchant of record).

How credits work: 1 credit = 6 seconds of audio, so 10 credits = 1 minute. $5 = 2,400 credits. Effective cost is about $0.83–$1.25 per hour of audio depending on top-up size.

## Top-up tiers

| Pack | Price | Credits | Bonus | Total credits | Transcription hours | Effective $/hour of transcription | Or text to speech | Or live interpreter |
|------|-------|---------|-------|---------------|---------------------|-----------------------------------|-------------------|---------------------|
| Basic | $5 | 2,400 | - | 2,400 | 4 hours | $1.25 | up to 48 min | up to 1 hour |
| Pro (Recommended) | $10 | 6,000 | - | 6,000 | 10 hours | $1.00 | up to 2 hours | up to 2.5 hours |
| Team | $25 | 15,000 | +1,800 | 16,800 | 28 hours | $0.89 | up to 5.5 hours | up to 7 hours |
| Studio (Best value) | $50 | 30,000 | +6,000 | 36,000 | 60 hours | $0.83 | up to 12 hours | up to 15 hours |

Credits are one balance: a pack buys the transcription hours, the text-to-speech time or the interpreter time, or any mix of them. Text-to-speech time assumes Standard voices (50 credits per 1,000 characters, about a minute of speech); Enhanced and Premium voices cost more, so the same credits voice less. Interpreter time assumes the Standard tier (40 credits per minute); Premium costs 80 credits per minute, so the same credits last half as long. Both are above the transcription rate, so the effective $/hour column does not apply to them: an hour of interpreting is about $3.33–$5 on Standard and $6.67–$10 on Premium, depending on top-up size.

## Per-feature credit costs

- Transcription: the base cost above (per length of audio), billed by the second with a 10-second minimum per file. Speaker identification costs nothing extra.
- AI summary and notes: the first two styles per transcription are free; each further style costs 1 credit per 3,000 characters of transcript, minimum 5 credits.
- Translation of a transcript (18 languages): the first two languages per transcription are free; each further language costs 1 credit per 1,500 characters, minimum 5 credits.
- Live subtitles and live conversation (two people, two languages, one phone): the same base cost, 10 credits per minute, billed by the second; translation is included. Sending the subtitles into Zoom, YouTube Live or an OBS stream as their own captions ("Captions in a meeting") adds nothing. A conversation with the translation read aloud ("Speak the translation aloud", off by default) costs 40 credits per minute.
- Re-transcribing a recorded live session with the full-accuracy engine: billed like a file upload.
- Live interpreter (real-time translation by voice): Standard 40, Premium 80 credits per minute, billed by the second while a session runs. Standard reads the translation in one voice you pick and follows your glossary; Premium uses several voices, has the shorter delay and covers more languages.
- Merging transcripts into one: free.
- Handwriting scan (OCR): 40 credits / page.
- Importing a PDF with a text layer, a Word or an EPUB file: free (the file is read in the browser). A document imported this way has no free summary styles or translations: the first ones are billed at the rates above.
- Burned-in video captions: 30 credits / video minute for the whole job (10 for the transcript, 20 for the render), billed by the second with a one-minute minimum.
- Text to speech: Standard 50, Enhanced 110, Premium 160 credits / 1,000 characters at the regular rates, minimum 10 credits per clip. Previewing a voice is free.
- Dialogue with several voices (up to 8 characters in one MP3): the same per-character price as text to speech; more voices do not cost more. Saving a dialogue to voice later is free.
- Subtitles for voice clips (SRT or VTT, Enhanced and Premium voices): free with the clip.
- Voicing one part of a long text or one line of a dialogue again (another voice or corrected words): the price of that part, at its tier.
- Podcast from a text (two AI hosts): the script costs 15 credits for up to 5 minutes, 25 for up to 10 and 40 for up to 20, plus 1 credit per 3,000 characters of the text; a short text is charged for the shorter script it really gets (16 to 60 credits in all). Voicing the script costs the same as any dialogue.
- Ask AI about a transcript: from 5 credits / question.
- AI chapters: free.
- Follow-up email draft: free.

## Refunds

Full refund for any reason within 14 days of a purchase, whether or not the credits were used. After 14 days, refunds are available for service failures on our side. Policy: https://speecho.app/refund/

## Invoices and payment

Purchases go through Paddle, the Merchant of Record. Paddle issues the receipt and invoice, handles VAT at checkout, and accepts a VAT ID from a VAT-registered business. Card details never reach Speecho. Security overview: https://speecho.app/security/

## Comparison

Subscription tools (Otter, TurboScribe, Happy Scribe and similar) charge roughly $10–$20 per month whether you use them or not. Speecho charges only for the recordings you actually process, and credits never expire - so a 90-minute interview once a month costs about $1.50 instead of ~$20.
