# Speak English. They read Spanish.

Speecho listens to the room and streams Spanish subtitles while the sentence is still being spoken. Your Spanish-speaking audience reads on the screen or on their own phones - no app to install, no receivers to hand out.

## For rooms where half the audience is following along in their second language

The people who nod politely and catch about sixty percent of it.

### A congregation that grew into two languages

The sermon is in English, a third of the families speak Spanish at home, and the volunteer who used to interpret is not there every Sunday.

**Now:** The sermon appears in Spanish on the screen, or on the phone of anyone who scans the QR code in the bulletin.

### Parent meetings nobody can prepare for

A back-to-school night runs in English, Spanish-speaking parents wait for a district interpreter who was booked for another campus, and the questions that matter never get asked.

**Now:** Parents read the meeting in Spanish as it happens, on the phones already in their hands.

### Safety briefings and all-hands with crews on the floor

Training and announcements are delivered in English; the crew that most needs to understand them is the one least likely to.

**Now:** The same briefing, read in Spanish in real time - and saved afterwards as a transcript you can send to whoever missed it.

## Subtitles appear while the sentence is still being spoken

Interim words show up instantly and settle as the phrase completes - the English above, the Spanish below.

Listening…

Good morning everyone, thank you for coming out tonight.

Buenos días a todos, gracias por venir esta noche.

We will start with the safety briefing and then the schedule.

Vamos a empezar con la charla de seguridad y luego el horario.

If you have questions, there is time for them at the end.

Si tienen preguntas, hay tiempo para ellas al final.

## Three steps, and the room is reading

Set up once; after that it is one button before you start.

### 1. Pick where the sound comes from

The microphone in the room, or the audio of a browser tab if the meeting is online. Taking audio from the sound desk beats a laptop microphone in a large room.

**Note:** tab audio needs Chrome or Edge. In Safari and Firefox the microphone is the way in.

### 2. Share the reading link

One link, shown as a QR code on the screen or printed in the programme. It opens in a browser - no install, no account, and each reader sets their own text size.

put the subtitles on the projector in fullscreen instead, and nobody needs a phone at all.

### 3. Start, and stop when you are done

Billed by the second while the session runs, from a pay-as-you-go balance. Pause it over a break and nothing is charged.

the session is saved as a transcript in both languages, exportable as text or subtitles.

## Hear Spanish instead of reading it

The live interpreter speaks the translation aloud in a natural voice, a few seconds behind the speaker. Listeners scan a QR code and hear it in their headphones, up to 20 per session.

## Frequently asked questions

Not covered here? [Ask us](https://speecho.app/contact/), we usually reply within a business day.

**Which Spanish does it translate into?**

Standard written Spanish, the register a newspaper or a subtitle track uses. It is not localised to Mexican, Caribbean or Castilian usage, because a subtitle read by a mixed audience should not pick a side - and because a reader in the room is following meaning, not idiom.

**Do people need to install anything?**

No. You share a link, usually as a QR code on the screen or printed in the programme. It opens a page in the browser they already have, and the subtitles start arriving. Nothing to download, no account for the reader.

**Can it go both ways in the same session?**

One session translates in one direction. If the room needs both, run the English-to-Spanish session for the English speaker and switch the target language mid-session when a Spanish speaker takes the floor - the link stays the same and the audience does not have to reload.

**Does a strong accent break it?**

Regional English accents are handled well; recognition degrades with overlapping speakers and with a microphone across the room rather than near the speaker. If the room has a sound system, taking audio from it is worth more than any setting.

**What does an hour cost?**

Billed by the second from a pay-as-you-go balance, from $0.83 per hour - the same credits as file transcription. A one-hour service or meeting is roughly a dollar, and nothing is charged while the session is not running.

**Can the subtitles spell names right and translate terms my way?**

Yes. Open Glossary before you start and add names and terms, plus translations into Spanish written as term = translation, such as a job title or a product name the way your audience says it. The subtitles use them from the first sentence, and you can edit the list during the session.

## Other language pairs
